DESCRIPTION:Discover the world of reptiles and amphibians! Meet colorful snakes\, wondrous turtles\, and unique lizards and salamanders. See dozens of species on display and enjoy a guided hike to look for turtles and listen for frogs. Participants will learn ways to live harmoniously with our misunderstood and scaly wild neighbors. Kids will enjoy reptile-themed crafts available free of charge. Food will be available for purchase and proceeds benefit Friends of Wehr Nature Center. We hope you’ll join us for all the scaly fun! \n$7 per person (non-member); $5 per person (Friends of Wehr member); Free for children ages 2 and under \n$5 parking fee applies to non-members \nSkip the line and buy your tickets now! DESCRIPTION:Join us to make an impact at Wehr Nature Center and throughout Whitnall Park by joining the Great Whitnall Park Clean-up. We will provide gloves\, bags\, and buckets for the clean-up\, but feel free to bring your own. Together\, we can make a huge difference in the health of our environment. All volunteers should meet at the visitor center at 10 am to receive their assigned area\, equipment\, and instructions. \nPlease register by emailing Sophia.Detweiler@milwaukeecountywi.gov\, so we have your supplies ready. \nThis program is open to all ages and abilities. DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee Public Museum’s BioBlitz  \nCommunity Event: Saturday\, June 13 from 10 am – 3 pm \nWehr Nature Center will host MPM’s 11th Annual BioBlitz\, a 24-hour celebration of biodiversity where scientists work together to see how many species of plants and animals they can find in one area. Learn more about MPM’s BioBlitz. \nWhile the scientists are in the field\, join us for fun during the BioBlitz. The Milwaukee Public Museum\, Wehr Nature Center\, and partnering organizations will be offering various hands-on activities on Saturday\, June 13th.  Wehr Nature Center staff will also lead in-person programs for the public. Public programs are free. Some programs have advance registration. Please check our website for the full list of program offerings. \nNo Fee \nThis is an accessible event. Ask about adaptive equipment available for free acquired specially to empower people of all abilities to get out and enjoy nature.
