Bug Day

September 14 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Bugs Rule!

Creep, crawl, and flutter your way to fun at Wehr’s 19th Annual Bug Day!

Join us for a buggy bonanza as we celebrate the tiny creatures that help keep our planet buzzing. Whether you love ladybugs, dig dung beetles, or are just a curious critter-lover, there’s something for everyone!

Event Highlights:

  • Live Insect Zoo – Meet amazing bugs from all over the world—touch a tarantula, greet a giant roach, and more!
  • Creepy Crawly Café – Feeling brave? Try a crunchy cricket or chocolate-covered bug snack!
  • Larvae Land – Special play zone just for little bug lovers with hands-on fun and insect-themed games.
  • Bug Discovery Walks – Grab a net and go exploring! Hunt for bugs in ponds, prairies, and woods.
  • Ask an Entomologist – Ever wonder why fireflies glow or how ants carry so much? A real bug scientist is here to answer it all!
  • Pollinator Power – Discover how to make your backyard a buzzing paradise for butterflies and bees.

Come dressed as your favorite bug and join the fun! Wings, antennae, and buggy smiles welcome!
