What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is a fast-paced, intensive, and communal survey where scientists, naturalists, and volunteers work together to identify as many species as possible within a designated area—such as a park or neighborhood—during a short timeframe, usually 24 hours. These events combine scientific research with public education, helping to document local biodiversity while encouraging community engagement with nature.
