Science Brown Bag Lunch at Wehr Nature Center

June 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Insect Epiphany: How Our Six-Legged Allies Shape Human Culture

From entomologist Barrett Klein comes a buzz-worthy exploration of the many ways insects have affected human society, history, and culture. Insects fuel life on Earth through their roles as pollinators, predators, and prey, but rarely do we consider their outsized influence on our culture and civilization. Their anatomy and habits inform how we live, work, create art, and innovate. Join Dr. Klein to discover that our world would look different without insects and and how they have shaped and inspired us.

After an indoor presentation, Dr. Klein will lead an insect discovery walk at Wehr Nature Center.

Dr. Barrett Klein is a distinguished entomologist and science communicator. He has presented Ted Talks; been featured on Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio, and was on the nationally broadcast radio show, ScienceFriday.
