All Abilities Open House
Celebrating Accessibility, Inclusion & Outdoor Exploration at Wehr Nature Center
Join us for an inclusive Open House celebrating Wehr Nature Center’s commitment to equitable access to the outdoors for people of all ages and abilities. This free community event invites everyone to explore nature through accessible experiences, adaptive recreation, and meaningful connections with local accessibility partners.
Enjoy summer picnic snacks from local vendors, discover adaptive outdoor equipment, and participate in activities designed to support a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. We believe everyone deserves access to nature — and this event is designed to empower all abilities to love, experience, and value the natural world.
Note: The event is free but parking is $5 per car; free for persons with disabilities (with handicapped signs displayed). Register at the link below.

At 11am, we will celebrate the nearly completed All Abilities Loop extension (planned to be completed in Fall 2026).

How do I try an all-terrain wheelchair?
Wehr Nature Center proudly partners with Access Ability Wisconsin (AAW) to provide Outdoor Access 4 All! AAW will be onsite during the open house to allow individuals to try the all-terrain wheelchair free of charge. To assist with a smooth check out process, please complete this reservation form and look for an email with details. There will be assistance on a first-come, first-serve basis during the event. Completing this form in advance will provide priority use and make the day smoother.
